The menu at Hello Bangladesh Restaurant is a true reflection of the rich culinary heritage of Bangladesh. From the moment you walk in, the enticing aroma of freshly prepared spices fills the air. The restaurant offers an extensive range of dishes, with something for everyone. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty biryani, mouthwatering kebabs, or a comforting bowl of dal, the options are abundant.

One of the standout dishes here is the Bangladeshi Biryani. This flavorful rice dish, served with tender chunks of chicken or beef, is spiced to perfection and comes with a side of raita to cool things down. It's a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant. The biryani is rich in flavor and perfectly balanced, with the right amount of heat from the spices and the fragrant aroma of basmati rice. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, the Chicken Korma or the Mutton Bhuna are excellent choices. These dishes are cooked slowly, allowing the flavors to meld together, creating a rich, flavorful experience.

Vegetarians will find plenty of options to satisfy their taste buds. The Shobji Bhaji (a mix of seasonal vegetables) and Cholar Dal (yellow lentils cooked with spices) are crowd favorites. The textures and flavors of these dishes are comforting and familiar, with just the right amount of spice to make them enjoyable without being overwhelming.

In addition to the savory dishes, Hello Bangladesh Restaurant also offers a selection of refreshing drinks to complement your meal. The Lassi, a yogurt-based drink, is a perfect way to balance out the spices in the dishes. For dessert, the Roshogolla, a traditional Bengali sweet made from cottage cheese soaked in syrup, provides the ideal ending to a satisfying meal.

The restaurant's interior is cozy, with simple yet elegant decor that makes it feel like a home away from home. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff members eager to recommend dishes or provide more information about the ingredients and cooking methods. Whether you’re a regular customer or a first-timer, you’ll always feel welcomed by the team at Hello Bangladesh Restaurant.

  • Great restaurant. This is our second time and definitely a must come back all time. Their beef kala bhuna is a must try. It tastes very similar to Indonesian beef rendang. I love their fish too. Everything looks delicious. Masal the owner is a humble hardworking person. The place is also very clean. A must visit!

  • If you ever find yourself wandering Astoria with an empty stomach and questionable life choices, do turn right into "Hello Bangladesh." What awaits is nothing short of culinary diplomacy: flavour-packed peace negotiations between your taste buds and your diet. I was greeted by Meem, the host/cashier sporting the patience of a saint and a smile that could broker world peace. She guided us through the menu like a benevolent shepherd, ensuring we didn’t accidentally order enough food for a small wedding (though we did come dangerously close). Our server, Emon, was friendly, helpful, and attentive without hovering awkwardly like a confused pigeon. He offered recommendations, checked up on us at perfect intervals, and politely ignored how aggressively we inhaled the kacchi biryani. Speaking of which, enter Masum, the owner, chef, and living legend behind that biryani. Hospitable, polite, and so genuinely warm that I briefly considered filing adoption papers. His kacchi biryani is aromatic, tender, and frankly should be classified as emotionally therapeutic. The hilsa fish combo was another triumph, enough flavour to make poets weep. The display counter alone is worth the visit: an edible parade of colour and fragrance with biryani piled high like fragrant Himalayan peaks, chicken curries glimmering suspiciously like moisturised gold, and rows of vegetables that almost convinced me to eat responsibly. The humble ruti was delightful: soft, fresh, and clearly made with the sort of care not found in most modern relationships. Then there’s the dessert case: a towering stockpile of sweets stacked to the ceiling like edible Jenga. Gulab jamuns gleaming with syrupy intent, milk cakes whispering sweet nothings, and trays of pastries daring you to be stronger than you are. Spoiler: you won’t be. The interior offers a surprisingly stylish vibe. Mustard leather booths and golden chairs so comfortable you’ll justify ordering dessert just to stay seated longer. Futuristic ring-shaped chandeliers hover above, perfect for pondering important questions like: “Can I finish another plate?” Large windows bathe the room in sunlight, letting passersby witness you demolishing your meal with pride. The crowd is a charming mix of families, friends, and solo diners, the universal sign of a truly reliable neighbourhood gem. Bonus points for self-serve water jugs at each table. Hydration is delivered freely, without the guilt of flagging someone down, revolutionary. Prices are fair, portions generous, and the bill makes you feel like you’ve paid for not just food, but an experience. All in all, Hello Bangladesh is a must-visit. Come hungry, leave full, happy, and slightly concerned about how soon you can return. Cheers to the entire team.

  • I had the Macher Jhol (Fish Curry) and it came with soup, salad, and rice. A delicious, flavorful, and filling meal at a really good price! Service was helpful particularly the woman at the counter, Mim, who patiently answered my questions so I could choose from the array of options. Will definitely return to this restaurant!

  • Hello Bangladesh in Astoria has a really big selection of different types of food there’s something for everyone. They serve everything from fried chicken and boba tea to biryani rice and a wide variety of fish, chicken, and lamb curries. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and the portions are generous too. The decor inside is clean and modern, giving it a nice, comfortable atmosphere whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to go. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they make sure you have what you need. Overall, it’s a great spot if you want to try a mix of Bangladeshi flavors with plenty of variety to choose from.

  • I’m surprised by their Kacchi. Everyone claims that their Kacchi is good and you get disappointed every time. However, this time it was different. It was good. Is it real Kacchi? I doubt it, but it is definitely better than 90% of the Bangladeshi restaurants that I have tried. It came with a complementary borhani which was also good. Decent amount to fill you up, good meat and rice ratio, soft meat and decent flavor. You can’t ask for more in NYC for Kacchi. Tehari, tandoori, chili chicken, and lollipop were also good. Great staff, great service. Definitely would go back. Keep it up guys!

  • Anytime I am in Astoria, I have to eat at this restaurant. The server Ishrath always greets us with a smile and she very attentive to her customers. The resturant is spacious and clean. There is variety food options which I love, 9 out of 10 dishes are always a hit when it comes to taste but my favorite dishes are golda chingri curry and chicken roast. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have delicious Bengali food whether it’s bhat/bhortha or polau/roast. It’s a must have!
